Distinctive day-and-night street presence on a busy Chiswick parade, with three coordinated signage pieces that read as one cohesive identity
A Bold Identity for a New Chiswick Takeaway
Curry Leaf is a finest Indian and Bengali takeaway on Fauconberg Road in Chiswick, West London. The owners came to us wanting signage that would establish the brand from day one — clean, confident, and detailed enough to signal quality before customers had even read the menu. The leaf-and-circle logo was already developed; our job was to translate it into physical signage that worked at the scale of the building, by day and by night.
The Brief: Three Pieces, One Coherent Story
The scope covered three distinct signage types: a 2D fret-cut illuminated fascia for the main shopfront, a projecting sign to catch foot traffic from up and down the parade, and a bespoke internal neon to anchor the customer-facing area. Three different pieces, three different fabrication techniques — but they all had to feel like they came from the same hand. Material consistency, colour matching, illumination temperature: every element had to align.
What We Delivered
- 2D fret-cut illuminated fascia — sharp brand-name lettering with the leaf icon, illuminated for night-time presence
- Custom projecting sign — visible from both directions of approach along the parade, mounted directly to the building
- Internal neon sign — a warm, photogenic feature for the interior, designed to anchor the customer area and read well on social media
- Full installation including electrical fit-out, mounting, and final commissioning
In-House Fabrication: CNC + Laser, Same Roof
The fret-cut fascia and projecting sign letterforms were CNC-routed from the master artwork, with finer profile detailing handled on our laser cutters. Doing both processes in our own 36,000 sq ft Barking workshop meant we could iterate quickly when the client wanted a tweak to letter spacing — no waiting on external suppliers, no risk of a sub-contractor delivering something off-spec. Every piece left the workshop having been checked against the brand guidelines before it was crated for site.
A Single Coordinated Installation
Fauconberg Road is a busy Chiswick parade, so the install was scheduled to minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses and pedestrian flow. Our team handled the fascia, projecting sign, and interior neon in a single coordinated visit — fascia up first, projecting sign mounted while the LED transformers were being routed inside, neon installed last once the interior fit-out had cleared. Power-on at the end of the day confirmed the warm illumination, the projection halo, and the interior neon all read at exactly the temperature we had designed.
A Distinctive Street Presence
The finished scheme gives Curry Leaf an instantly recognisable identity on a stretch of Chiswick already crowded with restaurants and takeaways. A strong fascia draws the eye from the road, the projecting sign captures pedestrian traffic from either direction, and the photogenic interior neon gives customers something to share once they are inside. Three signage pieces, one cohesive brand story — and a takeaway that customers can spot from a hundred metres away in either direction.
