Bespoke Signage for Madeleine Court

The brief for Madeleine Court was to create signage with a strong architectural presence while keeping the overall look refined and appropriate for the building. Instead of conventional illuminated lettering, we developed a non-illuminated 3D built-up letter system in brushed gold, finished with an acrylic detail that gives the sign its distinctive character.

We began with a realistic design mock-up showing the proposed MADELEINE COURT lettering on the building. This allowed the client to review the scale, positioning, colour and overall appearance before any fabrication began. Once the concept was approved, our team carried out a detailed site survey to confirm measurements, access and fixing requirements.

Each letter was individually handmade as a 3D built-up letter and finished in brushed gold. A 5mm acrylic strip was added to the face to create a fine neon-inspired border while keeping the signage completely non-illuminated. The combination of depth, brushed metal and the acrylic edge gives the lettering a clean, premium finish against the brick façade.

Following final approval, our production team fabricated every letter individually. Before installation, we prepared the required RAMS documentation and coordinated with the building owner and management team. The sign line sits well above the ground floor, so we employed a MEWP (mobile elevating work platform — a cherry picker) to reach it safely from the paved frontage, avoiding any need to mount plant or ladders on the customer's newly landscaped grass area. The letters were then fixed directly to the brickwork using secure metal locator fixings. Accurate positioning, spacing and levelling were essential, and the complete installation took two experienced signage engineers a full working day.

The completed MADELEINE COURT sign has a confident presence without overpowering the architecture. The brushed gold sits naturally against the light brickwork, while the 3D construction and acrylic border add depth and definition from both a distance and close up. From the first visual through survey, manufacture, RAMS and installation, the project was managed as a complete end-to-end signage package.
