Kensington & Chelsea signage, handled end-to-end.

Kensington & Chelsea is the most heritage-protected commercial borough in London. Knightsbridge, Chelsea's King's Road and most of Notting Hill sit within conservation areas; almost every commercial facade is subject to design review and many are listed. RBKC's shopfront and advertisement guidance is explicit — matte finishes, understated typography, minimal illumination, and respect for surviving Victorian and Edwardian shopfront grammar. Internally-illuminated fascias are routinely refused unless specifically designed to be near-invisible in daylight. Our work in the borough has focused on halo-lit channel letters and externally-illuminated traditional signwriting rather than lightbox or internally-illuminated designs.

Questions we hear in Kensington & Chelsea

Frequently asked questions.

We're a K&C-based fleet — where do you install the wraps?
Vehicle wraps need a controlled environment with stable temperature, ventilation and dust control for proper vinyl adhesion. We don't wrap on the street. Vehicles come to our 36,000 sq ft Barking facility — about 45-50 minutes east of K&C — and return same-day for a car or 1-2 days for a large van. Free pickup and return is included for fleet orders from the SW1, SW3, SW5, SW7, SW10, W8, W10 and W11 postcodes covered by RBKC.
Do wraps affect our Congestion Charge, ULEZ or K&C resident parking?
No to all three. Congestion Charge and ULEZ exemptions are tied to the vehicle's emissions class and V5C registration, not the livery. Resident or business permits cover the registered vehicle regardless of wrap. One caveat: wrapping a privately-registered vehicle in commercial livery can reclassify it for insurance purposes — your insurer should be informed before fitting.
How durable are vehicle wraps for fleets running through K&C daily?
Cast vinyl wraps rated for urban/outdoor use last 5-7 years on London routes. Primary wear drivers are UV exposure (roof and bonnet fade first), tree-sap and pollen accumulation on the heavily-planted K&C streets, and the abrasive grit on the busier corridors (Cromwell Road, A4). We specify 3M IJ180Cv3 or Avery MPI1105 with a matching laminate and offer ceramic over-coating to reach the upper end of that range — recommended for the salt-spray of vehicles running west toward the airport.
